I always, and i mean always, hear people talking about how their computer is so slooooooooooowwww. It gets irritating so i figured I'd write this up. My computer is no God Tier 1337 Lamborghini or anything, but i keep it running pretty well. Here are some tools and stuff i use to keep it running in top shape.
Piriform CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
This basically cleans out stuff you don't need. Internet cache, cookies, etc. It also cleans up registry errors which actually had a MASSIVE impact on how quickly my computer ran. I had about 600 errors the first time I ran it, and once I cleared those up I swear it doubled in speed. That's just my case, however.
Piriform Defraggler: http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
From the makers of CCleaner, this one is a defragging tool (in case you couldn't guess XD). It's much more in depth and a hell of a lot faster than the default windows defrag. When you run it, if you click Analyze, then go into the file list tab and select everything it found, you can click defrag selected and it will only work on the fragmented files. That way you don't have to do a full drive defrag every bloody time.
Spybot - Search and Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html
This one is a pretty powerful antivirus. Normally CCleaner and Defraggler keep me running full speed, but if my computer is bogging down for no apparent reason I usually assume it's a virus. that's where Spybot comes in. It's pretty easy to figure out, scan, get rid of the viruses, move on to being a happy bunny.

c(")(") (sorry, couldn't help it)
And last but not least, actually this is probably the most important thing, DON'T USE INTERNET EXPLORER!! Not only is it much slower than other browsers, but it also has been known to have massive security issues and lets viruses just prance into your computer like a squirrel on speed. The only time I ever use Internet Explorer is when I need an update from the windows update website, and even then it's because Microsoft doesn't allow it to work with anything else. (bastards...)
Well there you have it. I'm no professional but this is what works for me. Oh, and by the way, these are all completely FREE! 'Cause being a cheap bastard is fun sometimes..
Anyways i'm off to beat up a homeless guy and burn his box down. Cheers!
Or you use Linux :P
